Somewhere in late 2011, my long time friend and metal singer Liane Vollmer-Sturm called me up and told me that she is about to start a new band, and asked if I would be interested in recording the bass for the band´s debut album. With some people in my life, they could basically ask me for anything and I would say yes, so it happened in this case.
I recall going straight to the studio in Leer, Germany, after finishing a tour with Mem Nahadr in January of 2012. So I had heard some demos, but did not really know too much in advance, when we did the bass takes within 2 days.
The album was released in late 2013. By then I had agreed to also play live shows with Lion Twin, and my friends Stefan Weber (guitar) and Jan Hinzmann (drums), from the Wuppertal based metal band Rebattered, joined the live band as well. Stefan nowadays plays guitar in the legendary German metal band Rage.
Fun fact about this album is that it´s first single “Day of Anger” involves a guest apperance by legendary German metal singer Udo Dirkschneider of Accept fame, and that the album was mixed and mastered by legendary metal producer and engineer Michael Wagener at his “Wire World studios” in Nashville, Tenessee, USA.
